Yael Stone, who was born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as the prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael is a graduate of NIDA. Yael had the privilege to be able from an early age to have worked with some of Australia's top storytellers and performers along with pioneers in the film, TV and theatre fields. Yael has had a long and successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael decided to make New York City her home in the wake of her role in the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically-acclaimed production. Yael is co-founder of The Cannery. It's located within Bushwick Brooklyn and is based in the city to promote innovative creativity, new writing.
